In my story ‘What Is Attractive, According to Science,’ I examined multiple studies that addressed key factors of physical attractiveness. While often disregarding physical features as superficial, it’s important to keep in mind that these superficial features stem from our animal origin and therefore have a biological validity embedded into our DNA.

Of course, as the strong-minded species we strive to be, it is possible to overlook these physical attributes and focus on personality traits instead. Nevertheless, the studies gathered these 5 factors of physical attractiveness:

  1. Height
  2. Leg length
  3. Facial features & skin
  4. Waist-to-hip ratio
  5. A lot of Femininity, a lot of Masculinity
